January 26.  The adventure begins.  We fly from Winnipeg to Toronto, then a 7 hour flight to Lima, Peru.  We arrive at 1 AM rest for a few hours and then take public transport to St. Vincent de Canete where the orphanage is located.   For those who have done this before I am sure they are excited and energized, for us newbies there is excitement mixed with a bit of trepidation.  "All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well."   (Julian of Norwich)

January 21:  Today we met at Yvette and Paul’s in St. Adolphe  to sort and pack our humanitarian suitcases.  We have collected medical supplies, children’s clothes, school supplies, feminine hygiene products, toothpaste and tooth brushes, toys and candy.  Someone has generously donated 9 laptop computers which will be given to those at the orphanage who are pursuing post secondary training and education.  The Team of Yvette, Denis, Paul, Tara, Corey,  Gaby, Denis, Huguette, Louis and I (Laurie) are all excited about this venture.  For some it is our first experience,  others have been a number of times.   We look forward to meeting other team members Rosanne and Fiona from Regina.  We leave on January 26th and arrive in Lima early morning on the 27th.  The journey begins.
